Yes, our centers provide nutritious meals including breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all attending children as part of the USDA Food Program.
We encourage all parents to be involved in center activities. We believe that parental participation is a key component to the success of your child’s experience at Wee Care Day Care & Preschool.
Our centers maintain an open door policy. Parents are welcome and encouraged to check on their children throughout the day. In order to respect resting children without disruption, the center asks that you do not visit, drop off or pick up your child during nap time between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., unless it is an emergency. Parents may call the center at any time and may observe any area used by the children.
All staff receives an initial orientation and training when joining the Wee Care Day Care team, as well as continued training as needed, and annually. Every staff member completes a Portable Background Clearance through DCYF, is trained in infant and adult first aid and CPR, and completes Washington’s State Training and Registry System (STARS) Basics of Child Care training and continued training annually. Many of our staff have completed college education in Early Childhood Development, or hold a Child Development Associate Certificate, Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Child Development.
Our Centers use Creative Curriculum, which is a researched-based curriculum that guides the improvement of program quality as a whole, promotes positive teacher-child interactions and leads to positive outcomes for all children. Established over 30 years ago, Creative Curriculum provides the tools necessary to provide a developmentally appropriate program that incorporates best practices for infants through early elementary age children.
